This bowl is made from an unusual wood called Padauk. The wood oxidises once it is worked hence the difference in colour on the top and underneath. The part of the wood that has been exposed to light is darker than the underside which is redder and has not yet oxidised. This is a unique piece, the grain is lovely and has a great sheen to it.
